Another Birthday

February is a month of celebrations in our family; special times, happy memories, reflection.

Today has seen us celebrating another birthday, albeit in lockdown and connecting with loved ones over the internet. No hugs or family get-together, but the sentiments are the same. Everyone is in the same boat and it's all you read about in the news and on social media. In fact the word  'lockdown' was declared the word of the year for 2020 by Collins Dictionary. This looks to be another strange year lying ahead of us - or perhaps one paving the way for our new normal. 

I look at my youngest, full of energy and enthusiasm for the future, while I stroll gently in the afternoon sunshine and I sense things shifting beneath me, ever so slightly. I have to admit that there have been moments today when I have felt time ticking past, reminding me that life is fleeting.
